Dipa Karmakar out of Asian Games due to Knee Injury

Dipa Karmakar will not be participating in Wednesday’s Women’s Gymnastics Artistic Team Final due to an accidental injury on her right knee that she picked up during qualification training. Dipa had felt a 'jerk' in her knee during practice

Dipa's coach Nandi explained about Dipa's injury that, "On Monday she started feeling a jerk in her knee while landing during the 'podium practice'. The surface here is hard and the one in Delhi was soft (foam) which would absorb the jerk."
"We consulted the IOA doctor here and he advised that she should not push, otherwise it will aggravate," the coach added.
Coach is confident that Dipa will make a comeback
Dipa's Coach Nandi told media that after returning to India Dipa will consult Dr. Anand Joshi, who conducted her ACL surgery and he is quite confident that Deepa will make a comeback very soon. "It's a jerk and a two-week rest would be enough," Nandi said.
Now after Dipa's Karmakar's injury Aruna Budda Reddy, Pranati Das, Pranati Nayak and Mandira Choudhury will represent India from the Gymnastics team in the Asian Games finals.
